Root Chakra

Overview

The first Chakra is the Root Chakra, concerned with physical needs and basic human survival. Mastering the Root Chakra helps you grasp the importance of a fit, healthy body as you travel upwards through higher and higher levels of consciousness.

Our Chakras can cause use to experience different unfavorable symptoms when they are too open or blocked and can have enjoyable positive impacts when they are in balance. The following cover some these scenarios as well as some emotional and physical manifestations.

Symptoms + Dysfunctions

TOO OPEN: Bullying, Overly materialistic, Self-centered, Engages in physical foolhardiness, Aggression.

TOO BLOCKED: Emotionally needy, Low self-esteem, Self-destructive behavior, Fearful, Depression.

BALANCED: Demonstrates self-mastery, High physical energy, Grounded, Healthy, Secure, Trusting, Confident and Relaxed.

EMOTIONAL DYSFUNCTIONS: Mental lethargy, Spaciness, Unfocused mind, Incapable of stillness, Difficulty achieving goals.

PHYSICAL DYSFUNCTION: Osteoarthritis, Chronic illness, Eating disorders, Bowel disorders, Bladder problems.

Balancing

Healing practices 

  1. Visualizing the color Red at the base of your spine, spreading down your legs and into the earth.
  2. Wear red clothing.
  3. Practice mindfulness while showering.
  4. Place healing stones around the house that help balance the Root Chakra.
  5. Grounding visualization.
  6. Abundance thinking.

  1. Does your home reflect who you truly are? If not, how can you change it?
  2. What reward have you given yourself today? A gift, a praise, an affirmation perhaps?
  3. Have you focused on abundance or lack today?
  4. How could you improve your financial security? Make a list of weekly expenses. Where could saving be made?
  5. Have you lost contact with family or friends? How could you reestablish links? Make approaches through love, not obligations.
  6. How do you honor your body? Do you address diet, Exercise, and relaxation regularly?
